Music Therapy and Mindfulness Strategies To Improve Regulation and Social Skills
Topic Category: Social/Emotional *Grade Level: K-12
Have you ever noticed your students being ‘off’ and not connected to others in the classroom? Have you heard about emotional and sensory ‘regulation’ but not know how to address it in the classroom? Stacey Rhodes, MT-BC, uses music therapy and mindfulness to teach students K-12 how to become more ‘In Tune’ with their physical body, thoughts, emotions and other people in their class. She will use hands on, fun music and mindfulness activities to demonstrate regulation and active listening.
